Maternity

The best laid plans of mice and men. That should be my theme for the last few days. I had planned a rather clever blog about the gradual separation between England and Scotland and what this will mean but circumstances have again intervened. Yesterday I had one of those awful summer colds, which we men refer to as either the flu, or the dreaded lurgy, and our women call the sniffles. I alone know how terribly afflicted I have been for the last couple of days, and in particular the nights. If my daughter only knew how indisposed I was with this flu she wouldn’t make such a fuss about having a baby.

The article will have to wait this time because our first born, Georgia, is again back at the maternity ward. The latest word, and men, turn away if you’re a bit delicate, is 3 centimetres. I am on my way and will update you tomorrow. By the way I am purchasing a surgical mask on route. I don’t want to catch anything!
