April Fool?
April Fool?
Tony Klinger 2008
What’s the date? I’m pretty sure it must be April 1st. even though I looked at the calendar and it says its February. It has to be All Fools Day because the world just hasn’t made any sense for the last few hours or so.
The Archbishop of Canterbury, that’s the man who leads the Church of England, declared that he thought we should get ourselves ready for some Sharia law in the UK. Should I run that by you again, the leading Christian cleric in the UK has stated that Great Britain should let British Muslims run some of their laws in parallel to the general laws of this country. He thinks this is inevitable. I think he’s crazy. I could compile such a long list of why he’s nuts, but suffice it to say that his attempt to be politically correct will result in yet more racism. What a twit!
Imagine our suggesting the same thing in reverse in a Muslim country.
Not satisfied with this the day has thrown up Britain’s shiny new speaking CCTV systems. Yes, you walk past a big pole with a few cameras on them and if some pin head in an anonymous monitor room doesn’t like what you might be perceived as doing he or she will tell you to cease and desist; literally as a voice from above. The do-good brigade will tell you that if you’ve done nothing wrong you will have nothing to fear. This reassurance comes from the same people that lost the confidential records of about 30 million of my fellow British citizens in the last month or so. Nothing to fear…mmmm
Well this is another area in which we lead the entire world to add to CCTV cameras. Our nearly 5 million of which photograph each of us Brits about 2-300 times a day. We have more teenage pregnancies than almost anyone else, but I think the USA just beats us per capita on this one but we are ahead in the number of drunks we have, we’re near the top of the greasy pole when it comes to drug abuse, but because we have great crowd control we have made soccer comparatively safe. That is one reason for the reduction of thuggish behaviour that combined with ticket prices beyond the pocket of any but those with money in their pockets. The much maligned and taxed middle class.
We are also told that seven million hours of police time in this fair country is taken up by needless paper work put in place, you guessed it, to protect our citizens. This has resulted in our having to hire about 3,000 extra police officers to cover the shortfall in officers caused by their having to fill in all those dumb forms.
Over the last couple of weeks we have had the dubious pleasure of discovering that a great many of our Members of Parliament are employing and paying members of their immediate families to assist them in their political work. Some of them, it turns out, did no work, but still got paid. Not by the MP’s but by us, their eventual paymasters. This has been going on, unchallenged for many years. It is bad enough that they did it, but what’s worse is that they are so arrogant and out of touch that they didn’t appear to understand that it was wrong. The arrogance and abuse of power by the ruling elite is breathtaking. If you or I behaved like that in normal life we would be very quickly thrown in jail.
We have a tradition of judicial fairness in the UK that is being tarnished almost daily. A girl was raped in 2001. She described her attacker as a very tall, burly black man. This description was never disputed. Eventually there was a DNA cold case review. Despite the description the police arrested a thin, short white man. This case was processed and for four months the accused suffered the full processes of the law before being totally exonerated by the judge. Didn’t they notice he was the wrong colour, size and shape?
Today we also agreed to extradite the hate cleric Abu Hamza to the United States, but first we apparently demanded they wouldn’t, if they found him guilty of a capital crime, execute him, or extradite the friend and ally of murdering terrorist bastards to a third country, where he is also wanted for capital and other crime. Apparently there are a few places with reason to want Hamza. We are protecting the human rights of this malign piece of garbage. It makes you want to check the date doesn’t it, is it April 1st.?
